At 18, he worked as a diamond sorter at Mahindra Brothers in Mumbai for two years before starting his own diamond brokerage business in Zaveri Bazaar.
Returning to Ahmedabad, he assisted his brother in managing a newly purchased plastic factory, quickly venturing into PVC imports and expanding his trade skills.
