Arif Alvi, born on July 29, 1949, is a Pakistani politician and dentist who has been serving as the President of Pakistan since September 9, 2018. A founding member of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), he has been a close aide to Prime Minister Imran Khan. Alvi earned his dental degree from De’Montmorency College of Dentistry and furthered his education in the United States. Before his presidency, he was a member of the National Assembly from 2013 to 2018. Known for his advocacy of health and education reforms, Alvi has played a significant role in Pakistan’s political landscape.
