Singing Journey
On September 23, 1989, Jagjit Singh introduced Kumar Sanu to Kalyanji in Vimal Bunglow, Mumbai. They suggested he change his name from “Kedarnath Bhattacharya” to “Kumar Sanu” due to his resemblance in voice and style to Kishore Kumar.
Career Turning Point
For the 1990 film Aashiqui, music director Nadeem-Shravan selected Sanu to sing all but one of the songs, marking the beginning of his success.
